Rsports Racing announces Fernando Croce for the season

 

First stage is scheduled for March 31, April 1 and April 2 in Goiânia (GO)

Rsports Racing announced on Thursday, 23, the hiring of the pilot Fernando Croce for the 2017 season of the Brazilian Championship of Tourism, division of access to Stock Car. The fifth edition of the competition, scheduled to start March 31-April 2 at the Ayrton Senna International Autodrome in Goiânia (GO), promises a lot of competition and strong emotions in the eight stages and 15 calendar runs, all with a double-round system , except the Grand Final in Interlagos.

“I have a very good expectation, even though I know we will have a lot of work to do. I am excited and well motivated, to make a very competitive and disputed championship, I want to fight for victories and the goal is the title of the category”, says Fernando Croce. 34 years.

The Jaú rider, in the central region of the State of São Paulo, had already participated in a stage in the Brazilian Touring Championship in the last stage of the 2015 calendar. Now, he will compete the full season with the RSports Racing team. “I believe in this partnership with Rsports Racing and Leandro Romera is also excited and dedicated in the details to make a positive start to the season, even for the official extra training in Curitiba that we will do,” says Croce.

Fernando Croce will run with the number 84 and has extensive experience in touring cars. He has already competed in GT3 in Europe and Brazil, in addition to having tested at AutoGP. In Brazil, he raced the Dodge Viper and Chevrolet Corvette in the 2011 and 2012 seasons. In the 2013 season he was aboard a Ferrari 458 in Europe and GT Brazil. In the 2014 season, Fernando Croce won the Brazilian Cup of Kart twice.
In 2016, he competed in the Italian GT Championship and won the opening stage of the championship at the Autodromo de Monza.

“I really like the car, it’s a really cool category that does not require as much physics as Formula 3 and in my opinion with easy adaptation,” he recalls. “The Brazilian Touring car is a bit slower, so what will prevail will be the best fit for each track and do the job as a driver,” he emphasizes.

With an enviable career in the national kart, Croce has accumulated countless titles, among them: three-time champion of the São Paulo Light Cup in 2008 and 2009, the latter being in two categories; champion of the RBC Grand Prix category in 2008; Champion of the São Paulo Cup Granja Viana Senior category A in 2010; two-time Sao Paulo champion in the Senior category A in 2011 and 2012, in addition to having won the bicampeonato of the Senior category A of the Brasil Kart Cup in years 2007 and 2014.
