After many difficulties in the early stages of the season, Fernando Croce made his debut for the new team Carlos Alves last weekend in Curitiba and managed to score the first points of the season, despite the setbacks.

The fourth stage of the Brazilian Touring Championship was held at AIC (Autodromo Internacional de Curitiba), on days 1 and 2, and was productive for Fernando Croce. Without completing any race until then, the rider from the interior of São Paulo had problems in free practice 2, starting grid formation and warm up, but everything was due to the car being stopped to three years.

“The car was unbalanced. We need to hit the ground, do a complete overhaul, find the necessary adjustments, after all the model was stopped for three years.I had no engine and gear problems, but with lack of time to carry out a review work more thin, the Curitiba stage showed what needs to be done, “said Croce.

Despite problems with the brakes and fuel pump, Croce hit the scoring zone for the first time in the season. “In the first race of the weekend I dropped in 17th place after having problem with the brake system in the formation of the grid, I had to change the front tire right because it was very damaged, but despite that, I was able to finish the race in 11th place and managed to score my first two points in the championship. “

Already in the second race the end was not as happy as expected. Said the driver: “In the second race of the weekend the car was impossible to steer. No adhesion due to the change of time, because the rain began to fall near the starting time, the work in Curitiba was very difficult and I ended up running at the beginning of the race and soon after the car started to emit a little smoke and I had to leave. ”

The next stage of the category will take place on July 22 and 23 in Curvelo, Minas Gerais.
